Love Triangle

I love you and him
You love me and she
A two-sided triangle
How can this be?

I hate that I love you
That was not my plan
Tried to discourage you
Locked worms in a can

Stubborn, persistent
Your pursuit intense
I admit I was puzzled
Did not make much sense

Without any effort to win your affection
You fell fast and hard without any reflection
You did not count the cost, threw all caution aside
So bold and reckless, did not try to hide

Never considered others were watching
I helped you to see this, Yet no sign of stopping
She had to confront you, to scare you straight
Now you were exposed and I was the bait

Some gossiping neighbors kept my name on blast
So I confronted her and them at last
I went in with compassion, but was provoked to anger
She and others tried to put my safety in danger

My home was vandalized and harassed with discomforts
And the last I recall followed an email dispute
But I don't put it past her if more has been done
Few things surprise me here under the sun

Some time had passed
I realized my plight
A new truth had surfaced
That I could not fight

The love that you felt
Must have been contagious
'Cause now I can feel it
This seemed so outrageous

At last I was free from
This unlikely scene
But I found myself sick
And I missed you it seems

"And ever has it been known that love knows not its own depth until the hour of
separation." - Kahlil Gibran
